Eleven counts of attempted second-degree murder were filed against Anthony Rivers III on Monday. The 15-year-old appeared in court and will be tried as an adult for a shooting that occurred near Florida A&M University's Bragg Stadium over the weekend.

Judge Andrew Sheeran granted a request from the Tallahassee Police Department to seal the arrest records. State Attorney Jack Campbell explained that this step is necessary because the investigation is still active. He stated that holding back certain information allows investigators to determine if witnesses are being truthful.

Campbell noted that police are currently gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses. He urged the public to contact the department with any information, specifically photos or video of the incident. Campbell emphasized the need to understand every detail to achieve justice for the community.

The State Attorney expressed frustration regarding the limited video footage available. He said he has only seen part of the incident on camera and attributed the lack of operating surveillance cameras to previous leadership decisions. Campbell argued that these decisions have slowed down the city's video capabilities and that surveillance is valuable in situations like this one.

A dozen people were injured in the shooting, including several children. One victim remains in critical condition. The case includes an additional charge for possession of a firearm by a delinquent.

The court appearance marked the first official step in the legal process for the accused gunman. The investigation continues as authorities review collected evidence.
