Fernando Gonzalez Ramirez, a 32-year-old Panamanian citizen, was taken into custody in the Dominican Republic and returned to the United States on Tuesday evening.
The U.S. Marshals Service announced the arrest of the man wanted in Tennessee on state charges related to the sexual assault of multiple minors. Authorities said Gonzalez fled Williamson County after learning that law enforcement was investigating him. The probe started after two boys reported that the coach had assaulted them while helping run a youth baseball program in Franklin between 2023 and 2024.
Investigators tracked Gonzalez’s movements through Mexico, Japan, and Panama. A lead directed the agency’s foreign field office to the Dominican Republic, where he was apprehended within hours. He was flown to New Jersey and is currently awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
The Franklin Police Department is investigating the case. The Office of Stacey B. Edmonson, district attorney general for Tennessee’s 21st Judicial District, will prosecute the state charges.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and believe Gonzalez may have additional, unidentified victims. The U.S. Marshals Service asked anyone with information to call 1-877-WANTED2 or email usmstips@usdoj.gov.
